(NEWS) SEOUL, South Korea, 2026-Jun-19 — /Travel PR News/ — Airline hospitality is often judged through seats, service and menus, but wine programmes have become another way carriers differentiate the premium cabin experience.
Korean Air has received six honours at the 2026 Cellars in the Sky Awards, according to a press release published by Korean Air. The airline’s premium inflight wine selection earned one gold, four bronze awards and one Highly Commended distinction.
The top award went to Château Guiraud 2022, which received gold in the First Class Dessert Wine category with a score of 94 points. The Sauternes wine was recognised for its rich texture, deep golden-amber colour and suitability for dessert pairings.
Korean Air also received bronze awards for Shafer One Point Five 2023 in the First Class Red Wine category and Champagne Palmer & Co Grands Terroirs 2015 in the Business Class Sparkling Wine category. The airline also placed third overall in both the First Class Wine Cellar in the Sky and Business Class Wine Cellar in the Sky categories.
Krug Grande Cuvée 173ème Édition, served in First Class, received a Highly Commended distinction.
Organised by Business Traveller, Cellars in the Sky has been recognising airline wine programmes since 1985. Wines are judged through blind tastings by an independent panel of wine experts.
Korean Air currently serves 61 wines across its cabin classes, including 20 in First Class and 30 in Prestige Class. The airline says its wine portfolio is selected to complement inflight menus and the cabin environment, with regular rotation intended to provide frequent travellers with variety.
