Emirates Introduces New Measures to Help Customers Travel With Greater Confidence
(IN SHORT) Emirates has introduced a series of measures designed to give customers more flexibility and confidence when travelling.
From 10 August 2026, customers travelling to Dubai can make unlimited free date changes across all fare types, while refund fees on Dubai flights have been reduced to as low as US$25 on selected fares. Across the wider Emirates network, customers receive one free date change on tickets booked from 2 April 2026, including journeys connecting through Dubai, and can hold a fare for 24 hours at no charge. The airline also highlights its Comprehensive Travel Cover, available across 27 countries, and new benefits for Emirates Skywards members, including reduced Tier Miles requirements, bonus Tier Miles and improved Cash+Miles value until 31 August 2026.

The airline said the latest measures are designed to give travellers more control from the time they book until they arrive at their destination.
Unlimited free date changes for Dubai travel
From 10 August 2026, customers travelling to Dubai can change their travel dates as many times as needed at no additional charge across every fare type.
The unlimited free date change option applies from Saver through to Flex fares in Economy, as well as Special, Saver and Flex fares in Business Class.
Economy Flex Plus, Premium Economy, Business Flex Plus and First Class fares will continue to remain fully flexible.
An applicable fare difference may apply.
Reduced refund fees on Dubai flights
Emirates has also significantly reduced refund fees for flights to Dubai.
Refund fees are now US$50 on Saver fares and US$25 on Flex fares in Economy.
In Business Class, refund fees are US$50 on Special and Saver fares and US$25 on Flex fares.
Together with unlimited free date changes for Dubai travel, the reduced refund fees are intended to allow customers to adjust or cancel bookings with minimal penalties, depending on their circumstances.
No-show fees remain unchanged.
One free date change across the Emirates network
Customers travelling anywhere on the Emirates network receive one free date change on tickets booked from 2 April 2026, including journeys connecting through Dubai.
Customers can also hold a fare for 24 hours at no charge while finalising their travel plans.
An applicable fare difference may apply.
Comprehensive Travel Cover
Emirates’ Comprehensive Travel Cover provides customers with insurance across a wide range of travel scenarios.
The airline said the product includes added conflict cover, with reimbursement of medical expenses up to US$25,000 and a free trip extension of up to 30 days.
The cover is not restricted by government travel advice.
Customers are also covered for trip cancellation, baggage delay and baggage loss, as well as unlimited worldwide medical expenses and emergency evacuation.
The cover is available at an accessible premium across 27 countries.
It can be purchased at the time of booking through Emirates’ website or added to an existing booking through Manage Booking.
Where flights are disrupted, Emirates said it will directly support affected customers with accommodation.
Where onward connections on other airlines are affected, or where Emirates services are unavailable, customers will be rebooked to their destination at no additional cost, including in cases where cancellations are caused by airspace disruptions.
Extra flexibility and savings for Emirates Skywards members
Emirates Skywards members can also benefit from additional flexibility, more opportunities to progress to higher tiers and savings when using Miles.
Until 31 August 2026, members need 20 percent fewer Tier Miles to reach Silver, Gold and Platinum status.
They can also earn 20 percent bonus Tier Miles on Emirates and flydubai flights.
In addition, members can access improved value through Cash+Miles, with a special rate of 2,000 Miles = USD 30, compared with the usual USD 15, when using Miles towards Emirates or flydubai flights, excess baggage, lounge access and seat selection.
Through these measures, Emirates is strengthening its customer proposition with more flexible booking options, reduced penalties, travel protection and loyalty benefits designed to support greater confidence when planning and taking trips.
