New Korean Air Melbourne Service to Complement Sydney and Brisbane Operations
(IN SHORT) Korean Air will launch a new non-stop service between Seoul Incheon and Melbourne, operating three times a week from 18 December 2026 to 14 March 2027. The seasonal route, served by Boeing 787-9 aircraft on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, responds to growing travel demand between South Korea and Australia and complements Korean Air’s year-round services to Sydney and Brisbane. Flight KE409 will depart Incheon at 08:00 and arrive in Melbourne at 20:30, while return flight KE410 will depart Melbourne at 22:00 and arrive in Incheon at 07:35 the following day. The service is designed to provide travellers with expanded direct access to one of Australia’s key cultural, business, education and leisure destinations during the peak winter travel season.

The seasonal route is being introduced in response to steady growth in travel demand between South Korea and Australia.
The new Melbourne service will complement Korean Air’s existing year-round operations to Sydney and Brisbane, giving travellers more direct options to reach Australia’s major cultural and business destinations during the peak winter travel period.
Melbourne, home to more than 5.3 million residents, is one of Australia’s leading metropolitan centres.
The city is recognised for its culture, arts, gastronomy, sports and education, and the new service is expected to support expanding cultural, business and leisure exchanges between South Korea and Australia.
The route will be operated with Boeing 787-9 aircraft on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Flight KE409 will depart Seoul Incheon at 08:00 and arrive in Melbourne at 20:30.
The return flight, KE410, will depart Melbourne at 22:00 and arrive at Seoul Incheon at 07:35 the following day.
