2013-05-14 — /travelprnews.com/ — Passenger numbers at Oslo Airport rebounded in April, showing a sharp 12.1% increase over April 2012. Due to moveable public holidays, the figures for March and April provide a more correct picture when they compiled. This provides a growth rate of 3.8%, putting Oslo Airport back on the growth track.
Domestic traffic ballooned, surging 20%, reflecting the high level of travel in conjunction with moveable public holidays. International traffic had a more moderate increase of 5.3%, despite a decline in charter flights.
The number of passengers travelling through Oslo Airport in April totalled 1,889,018.
Aircraft movements (departures and arrivals) in April amounted to 20,501, an increase of 14.3%.
Trondheim is still the busiest route out of OSL, logging 170,728 passengers in April, followed by Bergen, Stavanger and Copenhagen. Routes to London saw strong growth, rising 6.1%, followed by Tromsø, which had a 5% increase.
“Oslo Airport saw gratifying growth in April. Compared with March, we are also very pleased that we are back on track in terms of our planned growth rate,” says Vegar Gystad, head of media relations.
