(IN SHORT) The Shannon Airport Group has appointed Ray O’Driscoll as its new Chief Executive Officer, following his tenure as Interim CEO since September 2025. With more than a decade of experience within the organisation, including leadership roles in operations and commercial property, he brings extensive expertise to the position. His appointment comes at a time of strong performance for the Group, with record passenger numbers and significant growth in its business park operations. Supported by both the Board and government, O’Driscoll is expected to lead the organisation through its next phase of strategic development, focusing on connectivity, commercial expansion, and regional economic impact.

(PRESS RELEASE) SHANNON, Ireland, 2026-Apr-27 — /Travel PR News/ — The Shannon Airport Group has confirmed the appointment of Ray O’Driscoll as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

O’Driscoll steps into the permanent role after serving as Interim CEO since September 2025, following the departure of former chief executive Mary Considine. Prior to this, he held the positions of Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer, where he was closely involved in overseeing the Group’s operational performance, commercial strategy, and governance.

His association with the organisation dates back to 2014, when he joined as Managing Director of Shannon Commercial Enterprises, the Group’s property division. In that role, he led the development of the property portfolio into a key contributor to regional economic activity, while also supporting broader aviation and commercial growth at Shannon Airport.

Before joining the Group, O’Driscoll held senior finance roles at Barry Group and Eurologic Systems Ltd, having started his career with EY in Cork. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds an MBA from the University of Westminster, along with a Diploma in Strategy from UCD Smurfit Business School. He is also a Chartered Director and currently serves as a director of the Shannon Chamber of Commerce.

Conal Henry, Chairperson of The Shannon Airport Group, highlighted O’Driscoll’s leadership experience and long-standing contribution to the organisation. He noted that his deep understanding of both aviation and commercial property sectors positions him well to lead the Group through its next phase of development and growth.

The appointment has also been welcomed by Darragh O’Brien, Minister for Transport and for Climate, Energy and the Environment. He pointed to the Group’s recent performance, including its strongest passenger numbers in over a decade and near-capacity utilisation of the Shannon Airport Business Park, as evidence of its growing momentum. He also acknowledged O’Driscoll’s role in supporting the organisation’s progress in recent years.

Looking ahead, The Shannon Airport Group is focused on advancing its strategic objectives for the 2024–2028 period, which aim to strengthen regional connectivity, expand commercial operations, and support economic development at local and national levels.

Commenting on his appointment, O’Driscoll expressed his commitment to building on the Group’s achievements, working alongside the Board, partners, and employees to enhance passenger services, expand commercial activities, and drive continued growth across the organisation.
