Marco Polo Ortigas Manila Continues Delivering Premium Hospitality With Renewed Five-Star Accreditation
(NEWS) MANILA, Philippines, 2026-May-21 — /Travel PR News/ — In a hospitality market as competitive and fast-evolving as Metro Manila, maintaining a luxury hotel’s five-star status is less about prestige alone and more about consistency.
As international travel continues to recover across Southeast Asia, hotels in the Philippine capital are facing growing expectations from both business and leisure travelers who increasingly look for a combination of service quality, location, dining experiences, wellness facilities, and modern amenities. In that environment, official hotel classifications remain an important benchmark for both guests and the wider tourism industry.
This week, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila confirmed that it has once again secured the Philippine Department of Tourism’s highest hotel classification, renewing its 5-Star Accreditation under the country’s National Accommodation Standards programme. According to a press release published by Marco Polo Hotels, the accreditation recognises the hotel’s continued performance in areas including guest experience, operational standards, facilities, and service quality.
Located in Ortigas Center — one of Metro Manila’s major commercial and financial districts — the hotel has positioned itself as both a business and lifestyle destination since opening as the country’s first “sky hotel,” occupying the upper floors of a high-rise tower overlooking the capital skyline.
The property features 316 guest rooms and suites, along with several dining venues that have become part of the hotel’s broader appeal within Manila’s hospitality scene. These include Lung Hin, known for Cantonese cuisine, alongside Cucina, Vu’s Sky Bar and Lounge, Connect Lounge, and Café Pronto.
Beyond accommodation, the hotel also caters heavily to conferences, events, and wellness-focused travelers through facilities including a grand ballroom, meeting spaces, a spa, fitness center, and indoor heated swimming pool.
The renewed accreditation comes at a time when luxury hospitality across the Philippines is becoming increasingly competitive, particularly in Manila, where international hotel brands continue expanding their presence amid recovering tourism numbers and growing regional business travel.
For hotels, Department of Tourism star ratings remain an important domestic industry standard, helping distinguish properties based on infrastructure, guest services, operational quality, and overall hospitality delivery. Achieving or retaining five-star status requires meeting strict assessment criteria across multiple operational areas.
According to the hotel, the recognition also reflects the work of its staff and management team in maintaining service standards expected from an internationally positioned luxury property.
General Manager Fredrik Johansson said the accreditation serves both as recognition of the hotel team’s efforts and as motivation to continue improving guest experiences.
The property also remains connected to the wider global hospitality market through its membership in Global Hotel Alliance, whose GHA DISCOVERY loyalty platform now includes millions of members worldwide. The alliance has become increasingly important for independent and regional luxury hotel brands seeking broader international reach while maintaining operational independence.
Beyond industry recognition, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s continued positioning reflects the broader evolution of Metro Manila itself as a destination increasingly balancing corporate travel, luxury hospitality, dining, and urban lifestyle tourism.
Ortigas Center, traditionally known as a business district, has in recent years expanded its appeal through restaurants, retail developments, nightlife, and upscale accommodations catering to both international visitors and domestic travelers looking for city-based leisure experiences.
As tourism and hospitality operators across the Philippines continue rebuilding momentum, maintaining internationally competitive standards remains central to attracting travelers who now expect not only comfort and convenience, but also distinctive experiences and reliable service quality.
