InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort to strengthen Rajasthan’s growing luxury hospitality market

(IN SHORT) IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Makson India Hospitality Pvt Ltd to develop InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort, a new 225-key luxury resort scheduled to open in 2030 near Jaipur, India. The project forms part of IHG’s broader strategy to expand its luxury hospitality footprint across high-growth leisure destinations in India. Featuring villas, extensive event facilities, dining venues and wellness amenities, the resort is expected to target both leisure travellers and the growing destination wedding market in Rajasthan.

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW DELHI, India, 2026-May-19 — /Travel PR News/ — IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Makson India Hospitality Pvt Ltd for the development of InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort, further strengthening IHG’s growing luxury hospitality presence in India.

Scheduled to open in early 2030, the new resort will feature 225 keys, including 36 villas and 189 guest rooms, and is planned as a large-scale luxury destination catering to leisure travellers, destination weddings and high-end social events.

The project will be developed on a 16-acre site along the Delhi–Jaipur Road in Achrol, an area increasingly emerging as an upscale leisure and hospitality destination near Jaipur. Once completed, the property will become the fourth IHG-branded hotel within the broader Jaipur area and the second hotel operating under the InterContinental brand in the market.

IHG said the signing forms part of its broader strategy to expand aggressively across India’s luxury and lifestyle hospitality segment, where demand continues to grow for destination-led travel experiences, premium resorts and large-scale celebration venues.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director for South West Asia at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said India continues to represent a major growth opportunity for luxury hospitality, driven by rising leisure travel demand and the popularity of experiential destinations for weddings and social gatherings.

He noted that Achrol’s proximity to Jaipur, combined with its blend of heritage, natural surroundings and accessibility, positions the location as an increasingly attractive destination for both domestic and international visitors.

Jaipur remains one of India’s most significant tourism markets as part of the country’s well-known Golden Triangle travel circuit. The city continues to attract visitors through its historic landmarks, cultural heritage and large-scale hospitality events, while demand for luxury accommodation and premium event venues continues to expand.

According to Makson India Hospitality Pvt Ltd, the partnership with IHG represents a strategic milestone in the company’s long-term plans to develop internationally recognised hospitality destinations that combine global standards with local cultural identity and regional heritage.

Rajan Jhiriwal, Director of Makson India Hospitality Pvt Ltd, said the project aims to establish a landmark hospitality asset deeply connected to Rajasthan’s architectural and cultural traditions while delivering international luxury standards.

Robin Jhiriwal, also Director at the company, added that the resort is intended to create long-term value for guests, local communities and stakeholders while elevating the luxury hospitality offering in the region.

The future InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort will include four dining venues, including an all-day restaurant, specialty dining outlet, lobby lounge and pool bar. The development will also feature large-scale event and banquet infrastructure, including a ballroom and multiple event spaces targeting weddings and social celebrations.

Additional amenities will include a club lounge, spa, fitness centre, swimming pool, retail outlets and extensive parking facilities.

IHG currently operates 52 hotels across six brands in India, including Six SensesInterContinental Hotels and Resorts®, Crowne Plaza®, voco™ HotelsHoliday Inn Resort® and Holiday Inn Express®. The company also has a development pipeline of 98 additional hotels and is targeting more than 400 open and pipeline properties in India within the next five years.

The latest signing reflects growing momentum in India’s luxury hospitality and resort sector, where international hotel operators continue expanding into emerging leisure destinations amid increasing demand for experiential travel, destination weddings and premium lifestyle tourism.
