INDIANAPOLIS, 2015-3-18 — /Travel PR News/ — The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) celebrated its new international nonstop flight from IND this morning with an inaugural flight to Cancun by way of Vacation Express. Vacation Express will operate weekly flights to Cancun through August 2, departing from IND on Sundays and returning on Saturdays.
Since early 2014, the Indianapolis International Airport has had a total of 18 new airlines and destinations, representing the largest net increase in new IND air service in a decade.
Vacation Express, one of the country’s largest tour operators, might be new to the Indianapolis market but it comes to IND with more than 25 years of experience. They offer all-inclusive vacation packages with exclusive, nonstop flights to destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico and Costa Rica. For IND’s flight to Cancun, Vacation Express is partnering with Volaris Airlines out of Mexico.
“Vacation Express is providing Central Indiana leisure travelers with nonstop international service to a top vacation spot,” said Michael Wells, IAA board president. “This new air service announcement allows us to further reach our goal of providing the best, most convenient service to our travelers by providing new nonstop service to a desirable destination.”
Additional international flight services at IND:
“This new flight from Vacation Express is indicative of the strength of our community economically and the Indianapolis Airport Authority’s continuing commitment to show our community that we are listening to them,” said Mario Rodriguez, IAA executive director. “Business and leisure travelers have told us they want more air service options and we are aligning with their needs.
