Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur announces its latest leadership appointments for its mid-2018 launch

The much-anticipated Hotel reveals its latest leadership appointments, joining General Manager Tom Roelens for a mid-2018 launch

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2018-Feb-27 — /Travel PR News/ — Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur announces the newest members of its opening team, who will be joining General Manager Tom Roelens in overseeing the essential day-to-day operations as the Hotel prepares for its mid-2018 launch. Recently appointed are Four Seasons veterans Vinod Narayan, Junious Dickerson and Nelson Hilton, and industry experts Kellie Ng and Tengku Badariah.

Encompassing the city’s most upscale shopping, nightlife and dining, Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur will offer a sophisticated urban complement to its existing resort property in Malaysia, the award-winning Four Seasons Resort Langkawi. Joining Kuala Lumpur’s skyline of architectural wonders, Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur will introduce a new level of prestige to the city’s vibrant Golden Triangle neighbourhood. Located next to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and within minutes of the beautifully landscaped 50 acre (20 hectare) KLCC Park, Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur will provide a glamorous address where intimate and personalised hospitality can be enjoyed by international travellers and local luxury seekers alike.

The new 65-storey mixed-use tower will boast a 209 room Four Seasons Hotel and a 250,000 square foot (23,000 square metre) luxury retail space on the sixth floor known as The Shoppes at Four Seasons Place. In addition to 242 Four Seasons Private Residences and 27 Serviced Apartments, the Hotel will feature a 520-seat Grand Ballroom, which will be equipped to host the city’s leading business and social events and the most unforgettable weddings, while Executive Chef Dickerson will be overseeing the Hotel’s six restaurants and lounges, including Yun House, a Chinese restaurant; The Lounge at Four Seasons; the Pool Bar & Grill; and the stylish cocktail bar, Bar Trigona.

Here is the dedicated team bringing the Four Seasons lifestyle to Kuala Lumpur:

Tom Roelens, General Manager

Most recently at Four Seasons Resorts Lanai in Hawaii, Tom Roelens transferred to Malaysia to open Four SeasonsHotel Kuala Lumpur as General Manager. With a career spanning almost 20 years in the service of Four Seasons, Roelens believes strongly in pushing boundaries and setting a new bar “not by doing things differently, but by doing different things.” Originally from Belgium, Roelens isn’t new to Southeast Asia; earlier assignments took him to Bali and Jakarta. “The last time I was here more than a decade ago, the city had four million people and the energy was a little laid back,” Roelens recalls. “Now there are about seven million people and there’s a new vibrancy. It’s very international with lots of luxury brands around. It’s all in anticipation of more good things to come.”

Vinod Narayan, Hotel Manager

As the recently appointed Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Vinod Narayan knows a thing or two about providing great service and comfort to his guests. From his time working as a bartender at a hotel in London to his first Four Seasons assignment as Manager in Training at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto to more recent tenures in Bangkok and Seoul, Vinod has experienced the ins and outs of a global hotel industry. And now, he’ll be bringing that internationally acquired know-how to Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

Nelson Hilton, Senior Director of Marketing

A true Four Seasons veteran with more than 20 years in sales and marketing, Nelson Hilton has been brought on board to be the Senior Director of Marketing at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, where he will be working closely with public relations and sales to position this new luxury hotel into one recognised on a global scale. As one who thinks “everyone has a story to tell,” Hilton’s love for travelling and exploring new cultures has carried him through several international assignments, from Miami and Hawaii to Tokyo and Thailand, with his latest being at Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina.

Junious Dickerson, Executive Chef

Chef Junious Dickerson may have started his adventure in Virginia, USA, but in the years since he has followed his life-long love for the culinary arts to the ends of the earth, including Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa, where he prepared meals for celebrities and royalty alike. Having previously spent eight years in Malaysia, Dickerson joins this increasingly global team to take lead on all its restaurants and bars, which will include one Chinese restaurant, a destination bar and all-day dining. He is most inspired by the opportunity “to cook for people who love and appreciate great food.”

Kellie Ng, Director of Catering

For future events, Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur has tapped local industry expert Kellie Ng to be their Director of Catering. With almost 20 years of experience in the hotel industry, Ng will oversee catering sales and events operations for the Hotel, which will include, among others, the Grand Ballroom with seating up to 520 guests, the Four Seasons Ballroom for 120 guests, and a team of dedicated catering specialists for what will soon be Kuala Lumpur’s most glamorous event venue.

Tengku Badariah, Director of Sales

To further expand the team, Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur has also named Tengku Badariah as the pre-opening Director of Sales. Until recently, Badariah managed sales and marketing at several upscale hotels in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. “The deciding factor for me to choose the hospitality industry as a career wasn’t only my interest in the trade itself but also my passion to please people and making them feel comfortable,” she recalls. “The hospitality industry is about people and cultures and the difference in expectations that comes with that.” With 20-plus years of experience in the service and hospitality industry, and an unparalleled knowledge of the local luxury landscape, Tengku Badariah makes an exciting local addition to this increasingly international team.
