Vancouver International Airport expands its parking option with the opening of Value Long Term

YVR is expanding parking options to improve capacity, efficiency and customer satisfaction

Richmond, B.C., 2018-Mar-07 — /Travel PR News/ — Today (March 1, 2018), Vancouver International Airport (YVR) opened its newest parking option, Value Long Term. Located at Templeton Station on the Canada Line, the lot is a four-minute free train ride from the terminal and the most economical choice for parkers. The lot can be accessed from Grant McConachie Way or Templeton Station road. With the opening of Value Long Term, the Value Lot is now closed to make room for a new parkade.

“As YVR experiences record passenger growth, the new parking lot marks one of our ongoing multi-year expansion projects that will ensure we continue to deliver an exceptional airport experience,” said Scott Norris, Vice President, Commercial Development, Vancouver Airport Authority. “While travellers become familiar with the new lot, we encourage them to leave extra time and have a parking plan in place before heading to the airport.”

Value Long Term offers access to the terminal on the Canada Line or if during off-hours, a free shuttle bus service. The train runs every seven to 20 minutes between 5:10 a.m. and 1:27 a.m. Outside of train operation hours, a shuttle bus will run every 30 minutes or less. There will also be an overlap in service hours to accommodate the busy morning period.

The lot offers increased capacity with more than 2,000 stalls. Other features designated family and accessibility parking stalls, EV charging stations and covered walkways. For travellers that have to take the bus during off-hours, there is a heated enclosed bus station which features GPS bus tracking and flight information on display. Ambassadors will also be present during the opening period to assist travellers.

In keeping with YVR’s commitment to sustainability, the lot offers a number of environmental management initiatives, including the implementation of bioswales between parking stall isles as natural run-off water filtration. More information on this initiative will be available on environmental message boards in front of Templeton Station. In addition, 90 trees were removed and relocated from Value Lot to the new parking lot following a comprehensive assessment. For more information about the tree relocation process, a video and profiles can be found here.

In addition to Value Long Term, YVR continues to offer the following parking options: Gateway Valet, Parkade and jetSet Parking.
