Cargolux Introduces Cathay Technologies’ Electronic Flight Folder to Support Safer and More Efficient Cargo Operations
(IN SHORT) Cargolux has partnered with Cathay Technologies to introduce an Electronic Flight Folder solution across its flight operations, marking a significant step in the cargo airline’s digital transformation. The EFF platform centralises key flight information such as flight plans, load sheets and fuel data into one integrated digital environment, helping pilots work more efficiently and make faster, better-informed decisions. The solution also includes Ops Chat, a real-time communication tool embedded into the flight workflow to improve coordination between flight crews and ground teams. Cargolux said the platform supports its move toward fully paperless, safe, compliant and efficient operations, while Cathay Technologies highlighted the partnership as a way to combine airline-proven digital tools with Cargolux’s global cargo expertise. The initiative strengthens digital flight operations in the cargo aviation sector and supports the wider shift toward more connected, sustainable and future-ready airline operations.
(PRESS RELEASE) LUXEMBOURG, 2026-Jun-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Cathay Technologies has partnered with Cargolux to introduce its Electronic Flight Folder solution across the cargo airline’s flight operations, supporting Cargolux’s move toward more digital, connected and efficient operational processes.
The agreement was signed at Cargolux’s headquarters in Luxembourg in the presence of Captain James Toye, Head of Line Operations at Cathay and Chief Product Owner at Cathay Technologies, and Claude Konsbrück, Vice-President Flight Operations at Cargolux.
As airlines continue to digitise flight operations and manage more complex operating environments, integrated real-time digital tools are becoming increasingly important for safety, efficiency and sustainability. The collaboration between Cargolux and Cathay Technologies is designed to create a more streamlined operational environment for flight crews, while improving coordination between cockpit teams and ground operations.
The Electronic Flight Folder, known as EFF, is built around the needs of pilots and brings critical flight information into one central digital platform. This includes flight plans, load sheets and fuel data, helping flight crews access essential information more quickly and manage their workflows more intuitively.
By digitising and centralising these materials, the solution supports faster and better-informed decision-making, while helping reduce reliance on paper-based processes. The platform is also intended to improve operational efficiency by giving crews access to consistent, integrated and up-to-date information throughout the flight process.
A key feature included in the partnership is Ops Chat, an integrated real-time communication tool embedded directly into the flight workflow. This capability enables smoother coordination between flight crews and ground teams, supporting more connected and responsive operations.
Claude Konsbrück, Vice-President Flight Operations at Cargolux, said the airline aimed to select an Electronic Flight Folder that would deliver meaningful innovation rather than only incremental improvements to older operational concepts. He said Cathay Technologies’ solution combines advanced functionality with strong pilot-centred design, supporting safe, efficient and compliant operations in a fully paperless environment at Cargolux. Konsbrück added that the new tool represents an investment in the sustainability and efficiency of the airline’s operations and aligns with its commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Navin Chellaram, CEO of Cathay Technologies, said the company is pleased to partner with Cargolux to enhance its flight operations through the Electronic Flight Folder solution. He said the platform is built on Cathay Technologies’ airline operational expertise and designed with pilots at its core, helping simplify workflows, improve efficiency and support safer and more connected operations.
Chellaram added that combining Cargolux’s experience in global cargo operations with Cathay Technologies’ airline-proven digital platforms creates a strong foundation for scaling next-generation flight operations.
The partnership marks an important development in the digitisation of flight operations within the cargo aviation sector. By combining Cargolux’s air cargo expertise with Cathay Technologies’ digital aviation solutions, the companies aim to support safer, more efficient and future-ready flight operations.
