Travel Ledger and Dolphin Dynamics Automate Virtual Card Payments for Travel Agencies

Travel Ledger and Dolphin Dynamics are addressing that challenge through an expanded platform integration that brings TL Virtual Cards directly into the Dolphin reservation module. According to a press release published by Dolphin Dynamics, the integration allows Dolphin customers to automatically generate and use single-use virtual cards within selected air and hotel booking workflows, removing the need for manual card creation and payment data entry.

The process is designed to run in the background. When a booking requires supplier payment, Dolphin sends a request to Travel Ledger for a virtual card matching the exact booking amount. Once issued, Dolphin completes the supplier transaction using the virtual card credentials, with the process taking place within seconds and without manual intervention from the travel consultant.

For travel agencies, the integration is intended to reduce administrative work around supplier payments, improve reconciliation and lower the risk of payment errors or commission discrepancies. It also gives agencies access to Travel Ledger’s cashback programme, offering more than 1% cashback on eligible supplier spend with no minimum volume requirement.

The companies said the embedded payment workflow is designed to give agencies greater visibility and control over supplier payments while supporting secure processing within a PCI-compliant environment.

The development reflects a broader shift in travel technology, where payment automation is becoming more closely embedded into reservation and booking systems. Rather than treating payments as a separate back-office function, travel companies are increasingly looking for integrated tools that can support booking, settlement, reconciliation and revenue protection within a single workflow.
