(PRESS RELEASE) TOKYO, Japan, 2026-May-7 — /Travel PR News/ — ANA Holdings has been selected for the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index for the ninth consecutive year and the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Asia Pacific Index for the tenth consecutive year, highlighting the company’s continued performance in environmental, social and governance standards within the global aviation industry.
The sustainability rankings are managed by S&P Dow Jones Indices and recognise companies demonstrating strong performance across economic, environmental and social criteria. In the 2026 evaluation cycle, 317 companies worldwide, including 35 from Japan, were selected for the global index from approximately 2,500 assessed organisations.
In the Asia-Pacific category, 162 companies — including 77 Japanese firms — were selected from around 600 evaluated companies across the region.
In addition to its inclusion in both indices, ANA Holdings was also ranked among the top five percent of airline companies in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026. The yearbook evaluates sustainability performance across 62 industries and categorises companies into top-performing tiers based on ESG-related scoring.
According to ANA HD, approximately 9,200 companies worldwide were evaluated for the 2026 Sustainability Yearbook, with 848 companies recognised across their respective sectors.
The airline group received the highest score within the airline industry for transparency and reporting as well as energy management. The company also earned strong evaluations for its climate change strategy, management of material business issues and human capital management initiatives.
ANA HD stated that the recognition reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to integrating sustainability into business operations while maintaining high safety standards across its airline and transportation activities.
The company said its sustainability strategy focuses on balancing environmental responsibility, operational efficiency and long-term value creation while supporting passengers, employees, local communities and broader environmental goals.
The Dow Jones Best-in-Class indices were previously known as the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices before being renamed in February 2025 as part of broader branding changes implemented by S&P Dow Jones Indices.
The latest recognition further strengthens ANA HD’s position among airlines placing increased emphasis on sustainability, ESG reporting, energy efficiency and climate-related initiatives as the aviation sector faces growing pressure to reduce environmental impact and improve corporate accountability.
The company continues publishing integrated sustainability and financial reporting as part of its long-term corporate governance and environmental strategy initiatives.
