KLM Relocation at Schiphol to Support Modern Work Environments and Future Airport Development
(IN SHORT) KLM and Royal Schiphol Group have signed the final agreement for the relocation of several KLM facilities at Schiphol, including KLM Catering Services, Topside and the airline’s cargo buildings. The agreement was signed on May 29 by KLM CFO Bas Brouns and Royal Schiphol Group CFO Robert Carsouw. The relocation will allow Schiphol to further develop this part of the airport and create additional space for passenger operations, aviation activities and new facilities. For KLM, the move offers an opportunity to create more modern working environments that better match the airline’s current and future operational needs. The agreement follows earlier redevelopment plans for Schiphol and represents a key step in advancing the airport’s long-term modernization.
(PRESS RELEASE) AMSTELVEEN, the Netherlands, 2026-May-29 — /Travel PR News/ — KLM and Royal Schiphol Group have signed the final agreement for the relocation of several KLM facilities at Schiphol, marking an important step in the airport’s wider redevelopment plans. The agreement was signed on May 29 by KLM Chief Financial Officer Bas Brouns and Royal Schiphol Group Chief Financial Officer Robert Carsouw.
The relocation covers multiple KLM locations at Schiphol, including KLM Catering Services, Topside and the airline’s cargo buildings. By moving these facilities, Schiphol will be able to further develop this part of the airport and create additional space for passenger operations, aviation activities and future airport facilities.
For Royal Schiphol Group, the agreement supports long-term planning for the airport’s infrastructure and operational layout. The freed-up space will help enable further development at one of the airport’s key operational areas, supporting future capacity needs and the continued modernization of Schiphol.
For KLM, the relocation provides an opportunity to build more modern work environments that better reflect the airline’s current and future operational needs. The move is expected to support improved working conditions, more efficient processes and facilities that are better aligned with the way KLM operates today and in the years ahead.
The final agreement follows earlier plans for Schiphol redevelopment, which identified opportunities for KLM as part of the broader transformation of the airport site. With the signing now completed, both KLM and Schiphol can move forward with the next phase of preparations for the relocation and redevelopment process.
