Wizz Air announces new route from Wroclaw, Poland to Reykjavik, Iceland

BUDAPEST, Hungary, 2017-Feb-16 — /Travel PR News/ — Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, announced today a new route from Wroclaw to the popular leisure destination of Reykjavik. The newest WIZZ service will commence on 31 May and operate with two weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Sundays. Seats on the new route are already on sale and can be booked on wizzair.com from just 29.99 EUR / 129 PLN*.

Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, is considered one of the safest, greenest and cleanest capitals in the world, and is a very popular tourist destination, thanks to various cultural events and places of interest. Reykjavik is home to the largest whale exhibition of its kind and the Pearl – a sparkling landmark building in the capital. Iceland also offers an array of unique tourist attractions such as various nature exploration tours, ice fishing and, of course, Northern Lights spotting.

The first WIZZ flight took off from Wroclaw in 2006 and after four years of successful operations, the airline established base operations at Wroclaw Airport creating 36 direct jobs and bringing more opportunities through affordable travel to Silesia. In 2016, Wizz Air carried 367,000 Wroclaw passengers, supporting over 270 local jobs**. In 2017, WIZZ will have over 500,000 seats on sale on its Wroclaw routes, which represents a 25% growth year over year.

With its new Reykjavik route, Wizz Air now offers 10 routes to seven countries from Wroclaw.
