Trek the Americas with Lincoln Park Zoo Registration Coming Up for Spring Break Camp 2013

Chicago – 2012-11-08 — /travelprnews.com/ — The leaves may be falling across Chicago, but Lincoln Park Zoo has spring on the brain. Spring Break, that is.

The zoo is pleased to announce its first-ever weeklong Spring Break Camp, and early registration is just around the corner. Open registration kicks off on the Lincoln Park Zoo website on Thursday, November 8, at 10 a.m.

Campers ages four through 4th grade can embark on The Great American Trek on either March 25-29 or April 1-5. Each camp group will explore the zoo and discover topics like animal diversity, environmental conservation and the many ways Lincoln Park Zoo cares for both animals at the zoo and in the wild through high-energy activities specifically tailored to their ages.

While 4-5 year olds get up close to critters like armadillos and Holstein cows, 1st – 2nd graders will examine the homes, holes, and hideaways of some of the most unique creatures this side of the globe. Meanwhile, 3rd – 4th graders will step into the shoes of a field researcher by tracking and analyzing the signs and signals animals leave behind.

Full-day camp for 1st – 4th graders runs from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and costs $310/week  $265/week for zoo members). For kids ages 4-5, choose between a morning and afternoon session at $155/week ($130/week for zoo members). All campers will receive a Spring Break Camp long-sleeved t-shirt.

Please note the programs offered each session will be identical, so campers can only attend one week of Spring Break Camp. Healthy snacks will be provided to all campers, but those in full-day sessions should bring their own lunches.

For a full list of registration times and dates as well as a detailed description of each age-specific camp experience, please visit www.lpzoo.org or call (312) 742-2056.
