Tirana International Airport inaugurates Office for Tourism Services

• Tourists will find more useful information at the Airport
• TIA is constantly developing to satisfy demands of passengers and other customers

2012-08-08 — /travelprnews.com/ — As of today, Tirana International Airport (TIA) is offering an addition to the services it provides inside the terminal with the opening of an Office for Tourism Services. At the initiative of Albania’s Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports, and sponsored by the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA), in collaboration with TIA, the service is available for tourists since 6 August 2012. The tourism information desk will be open seven days a week and will provide a wide range of information for passengers.

At this office tourists can find information on different destinations in Albania’s twelve counties among others: Berat, Durrës, Elbasan, Gjirokastra, Tirana and Vlora. Those looking for more detailed or extensive information will be directed to the main office in Tirana. There they will find assistance and information on the country’s most frequented sites and other attractions in Albania, including services offered in the different locations, the type and cost of accommodation available, how to get there, etc.

“This is an important development for promotion of the country. Tourism is a key factor for our company, for this country’s development and its big achievements. TIA has always been a great supporter of progress here, and tourism means cultural exchange, incentives for business and economic growth, which is why any initiative in this direction is always welcome,” said TIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Andrea Gebbeken.

TIA is constantly working to improve the environment at the Airport, trying to understand and anticipate the needs of its passengers and visitors. Testimony to this hard work is the growing number of passengers served each year.
