The IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd launches operations on 1 December 2018

Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 2018-Dec-03 — /Travel PR News/ — The waiting has come to an end. The new flagship of the IntercityHotel brand is about to go live and will welcome its very first guests from 1 December 2018. The IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd is located on the South side of Frankfurt Central Station. It has 414 rooms and is thus the largest of the around 40 properties which currently make up the IntercityHotel portfolio.

Thomas Willms, CEO of Deutsche Hospitality, said, “As well as being the site of our headquarters, Frankfurt am Main is the city where IntercityHotel had its origins more than 30 years ago. This location is of particularly special significance to our company. From tomorrow onwards, we are looking forward to showcasing our new flagship to guests from all over the world.”

The hotel is being operated under a lease agreement and makes up part of a major regeneration scheme which covers a larger site. The property owner is CA Immo Deutschland GmbH. As it is the case with all new IntercityHotels, interior design is based on a concept created by the Italian architect Matteo Thun. Living trees and a wall planted with moss in the hall of the entrance area are a highly novel element which also ensures plenty of fresh air, whilst ivy in the inner courtyard enhances the natural experience still further. The hotel boasts a restaurant, a bar and six conference rooms. Three of the latter can be combined to create a space of 190 square metres.

General Manager Anton M. Wüstefeld also expressed his delight with the project, which in his case represents the final milestone of a long career. “The IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd is something which is very close to my heart. My journey with Deutsche Hospitality began 48 years ago, and I am proud to be able to conclude with such a great venture.”

As well as benefiting from the central location of the IntercityHotel Hauptbahnhof Süd, future guests will also receive a FreeCityTicket on each occasion they visit. This IntercityHotel USP enables them to use the local public transport system free of charge during their stay. Frankfurt’s Trade Fair Centre and airport can both be reached by suburban railway in a mere matter of minutes. This makes the hotel attractive to leisure and business travellers alike. The IntercityHotel app allows guests to check in, check out and open the door to their room via smart phone.
