2012-11-15 — /travelprnews.com/ — The third annual Tamales! Holiday Festival celebrates San Antonio’s beloved holiday staple, the tamale. Tamales! will be held at the Pearl Brewery on Saturday, December 1, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. More than 35 tamale vendors will feature tamales ranging from traditional San Antonio classics to unusual Latin American to sweet, vegetarian and many more.

Tamales! is a celebration of family, food and fun that so many San Antonians associate with the holidays. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in this San Antonio food tradition amid the city’s rapidly growing culinary scene. Regional home cooks, culinary students, popular restaurants and esteemed chefs will showcase a blend of innovation, experimentation and classic styles at Tamales!. Entries are even encouraged for the community-wide tamale contest.

Tamales are traditionally found on holiday tables across San Antonio, signifying the rich Latin influence and culture throughout the city. At Tamales!, visitors can explore a Mexican streetscape at the Pearl Brewery—full of the sounds, sights and tastes of the holiday season.
