Ontario, California – 2013-01-04 — /travelprnews.com/ — Southwest Airlines will offer seasonal service between LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) and Reno-Tahoe Airport beginning January 6, 2013. The route provides a convenient launching point for winter sport enthusiasts seeking world class resorts in the Reno-Tahoe area. Daily service between the two cities will run for three months and will also provide service for business and other leisure travelers.
“It’s been some time since we’ve had direct service from ONT to Reno-Tahoe, and we are glad to see that Southwest Airlines is filling a need for people,” said LA/Ontario airport manager, Jess Romo. “Obviously, we would like to see a strong showing of this route, which might make it possible for longer term service.”
ONT is located in the Inland Empire, approximately 35 miles from downtown Los Angeles in the center of Southern California. It is a medium-hub, full-service airport with commercial service to 14 major U.S. cities and through service to many international destinations. There are approximately 114 daily flights offered by 7 carriers.
