Tanzania, 2014-03-18 — /Travel PR News/ — Serena Hotels Tanzania, one of the leading hotels in East Africa , has supplied nutritious foodstuffs for nearly 100 displaced individuals affected by the February heavy rains in Hai District, Kilimanjaro Region.
“The company was touched by the plight of the helpless population who were affected by the natural disaster,” the Country Sales Manager for Serena Hotels, Mr. David Sem said.
The Hai District Commissioner, Novatus Makunga, thanked Serena Hotels Tanzania for being ready to extend its helping hand beyond its area of operations.
According to him, the strong winds accompanied by heavy rains swept through residential areas, un-roofing 85 houses, classrooms and teachers’ offices in several schools.
“We still need a substantial donation towards shelter, foodstuff and support, to ensure the security of displaced people,” Mr. Makunga explained.
