PATA announces the Asia Pacific Youth & Sustainable Tourism Workshop on March 14 in Bangkok, Thailand

 

BANGKOK, 2018-Feb-08 — /Travel PR News/ — The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), supported by the Global Peace Foundation and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), will organise the Asia Pacific Youth & Sustainable Tourism Workshop on Wednesday, March 14 at the UN Building in Bangkok, Thailand.

Under the theme ‘Setting the Stage for Peace’, the half-day workshop will take place in conjunction with the Global Peace Youth Exchange Thailand 2018. As sustainable tourism is a tool for peace and a huge driver in achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the event aims to empower the next generation of leaders in the travel and tourism industry.

PATA CEO Dr. Mario Hardy said, “Youth engagement is essential for the sustainability of the travel and tourism industry, especially as we are seeing massive growth in the next decade. We remain committed to the development of the next generation of young tourism professionals and this interactive workshop is the perfect opportunity for young students and professionals to get a comprehensive view of the industry from a diverse range of speakers.”

Students enrolled in an educational institution that is a PATA International member, PATA Student Chapter members and PATA YTP Student members receive complimentary access to the half day workshop.

For non-members, various packages are available to attend either the half-day workshop or the full Global Peace Youth Exchange package.
