Andolino. “We’re very pleased to now offer more specialty products and luxury items at the Dufry store to better serve O’Hare’s global travelers.”

Since the new duty-free location opened August 4, the number of passengers shopping in the store has quadrupled, while sales have tripled compared to the kiosk that it replaced.

The store will serve as a temporary location during the International Terminal’s redevelopment, with the permanent store slated to open in the fall of 2013.

As the redevelopment of the concessions program at Terminal 5 continues, travelers have already experienced upgrades to the news and gift, duty-free and food and beverage options. The complete redevelopment will relocate the security checkpoint to open up prime concessions space past the security checkpoint and provide travelers with a world-class shopping and dining experience. Today, 95 percent of the Terminal’s dining and retail options are located pre-security. Upon completion, 95 percent will be post-security.
