(NASDAQ: MAR) has announced that Sean Tresvant, CEO of Taco Bell Corp., will join the company’s board of directors as an independent director, effective February 12, 2025. His election is set to be part of Marriott’s slate of nominees for the upcoming 2025 annual meeting of stockholders.

As the CEO of Taco Bell, Tresvant oversees growth strategies, franchise operations, and company performance. He has accelerated the brand’s profitable growth while emphasizing social impact and community engagement. Additionally, he serves as Vice Chairman of the Taco Bell Foundation and is a founding member of the Black Executive CMO Alliance (BECA), advocating for opportunities for Black professionals in marketing.
Prior to his role at Taco Bell, Tresvant had a distinguished 15-year career at Nike, ultimately becoming the Chief Marketing Officer for the Jordan Brand. In this role, he led brand campaigns, athlete sponsorships, and product marketing. Tresvant also held positions at Time Inc.’s Sports Illustrated and PepsiCo.
A Seattle native, Tresvant earned his MBA from Seattle University and holds both a BA and MA in Communications from Washington State University, where he also played basketball.
With the addition of Tresvant, Marriott International’s board will expand to 13 members, 10 of whom are independent.
