2012-10-26 — /travelprnews.com/ — Staff at First Shared Services (FSS), the financial processing centre for Aberdeen based FirstGroup, were celebrating this month.  Not only were they re-accredited with the celebrated Investors in People (IIP) status, but they were also awarded the IIP Bronze standard.

FSS Controller Richard Emslie said: “We firmly believe that our people are key to FSS’ success – we’ve got a great team in Aberdeen and it is their commitment and work ethic that contributed most toward securing the Bronze award.”

The IIP report highlighted a number of areas that impressed including FSS’ management effectiveness, positive approach to learning and development opportunities and a comprehensive employee induction process for new starts.

“Our staff are our most important asset and securing the IIP award underlines our dedication and ongoing commitment to our employees,“ added Richard Emslie. “We are always trying to improve as an organisation, so our next target is achieving IIP silver status by 2015.”

FSS is the financial processing centre for UK’s leading transport operator, FirstGroup.  At its King Street headquarters in Aberdeen, FSS staff provide services such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking services, financial accounting and system administration.
