(PRESS RELEASE) EDMONTON, AB, Canada 2026-May-7 — /Travel PR News/ — Edmonton International Airport will once again offer direct seasonal flights to Cancun, Mexico, as Flair Airlines announced the return of nonstop winter services connecting Cancun with Edmonton, Calgary and Montreal beginning in December 2026.
The airline said the restored routes are part of its expanded winter network aimed at giving Canadian travellers more affordable options for warm-weather holidays during the 2026–2027 winter season.
Under the new schedule, nonstop service between Edmonton and Cancun will operate three times weekly from 16 December 2026 through 4 April 2027. Flights connecting Calgary International Airport with Cancun will operate four times weekly from 17 December 2026 until 6 April 2027, while flights between Montréal–Trudeau International Airport and Cancun will operate three times weekly from 16 December 2026 through 5 April 2027.
Len Corrado said the airline is pleased to restore nonstop services that provide Canadians with easier access to one of the region’s most popular winter tourism destinations. He noted that the routes are intended to support family travel, leisure vacations and seasonal getaways while continuing the company’s strategy of expanding affordable travel opportunities.
Flair said the returning Cancun routes strengthen its broader winter schedule and provide passengers with additional flexibility and convenience when planning winter holidays.
Base fares for the routes are expected to start at CAD 259, although the airline noted that fares remain subject to government approval and may change.
The expansion was also welcomed by ASUR, which manages Cancun International Airport. Alejandro Vales Lehne said the airport operator is pleased to see Flair expanding its Cancun operations with additional Canadian routes and expressed confidence that travellers will continue to support tourism growth in the destination.
The return of the services reflects continued demand for winter leisure travel between Canada and Mexico as airlines expand international seasonal offerings amid ongoing recovery in the travel and tourism industry.
Cancun remains one of the most popular international holiday destinations for Canadian travellers, particularly during the winter season when demand for sun-focused vacations traditionally increases.
