(PRESS RELEASE) SINGAPORE, 2026-Apr-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Changi Airport Group (CAG) has commenced redevelopment works on the former Commercially Important Persons (CIP) terminal at Singapore Changi Airport, introducing a new premium travel and lifestyle destination designed to elevate the passenger experience. Scheduled to open in mid-2027, the project will feature a redesigned private terminal alongside an expanded Hub & Spoke amenities cluster, reshaping the southern section of Terminal 2 into a more integrated and sophisticated environment.
At the heart of the development is a new private terminal, which will be jointly operated by CAG and Plaza Premium Group. The facility is intended to deliver a fully personalised journey for premium travelers, offering seamless services from arrival to boarding. Guests will have access to a refined space that includes a luxury lounge, bar, private suites, and bespoke dining options, all designed with a focus on comfort, privacy, and understated elegance. The terminal will also include a high-end, flexible event venue capable of accommodating larger groups and private gatherings.
According to Ang Siew Min, the initiative reflects evolving traveler expectations, with more passengers seeking tailored, high-quality experiences beyond traditional airport offerings. The enhanced private terminal will cater to this demand while being complemented by nearby curated dining and wellness experiences.
Mei Mei Song highlighted that the collaboration brings together Plaza Premium Group’s global expertise in airport hospitality with Changi Airport’s operational excellence. The partnership aims to set a new benchmark for seamless, end-to-end premium services, focusing on personalization and efficiency for discerning travelers.
Alongside the private terminal, the expanded Hub & Spoke cluster will introduce a broader mix of lifestyle offerings. The development will feature new dining concepts, wellness facilities, and pet-friendly spaces designed to serve both passengers and the local community. A key highlight will be Changi Airport’s first covered amphitheatre and an open-air plaza, providing a venue for events ranging from small gatherings to mid-scale performances and community activities.
Located near Terminal 2 and the upcoming Hotel Indigo, the combined development is expected to transform this part of the airport into a vibrant hub that blends travel, leisure, and lifestyle elements. By integrating premium services with accessible public spaces, the project reflects CAG’s broader strategy to enhance both passenger experience and community engagement.
As one of Asia’s leading aviation hubs, Singapore Changi Airport continues to expand its offerings beyond traditional airport functions, reinforcing its reputation for innovation, connectivity, and service excellence.
