Per-segment buy-ups available on Economy and Business Class trips
AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS, 2019-Jan-28 — /Travel PR News/ — SkyTeam is offering globetrotting customers even greater flexibility, with the option to purchase per-segment upgrades when booking a Go Round the World pass in Economy or Business Class. The new buy-up feature is available now on SkyTeam’s online Round the World booking portal.
Whether they want more legroom on longer flights, or simply wish to spoil themselves, customers can use the buy-up feature to upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy or Business Class to First. A handy icon by each flight segment indicates available upgrades and price information, enabling customers to tailor-make the itinerary to suit their needs.
“SkyTeam’s new buy-up feature takes flexible travel to a new level, enabling customers not only to be selective about where they fly but how they fly, by choosing their preferred onboard experience around the world,” said Edward Hollo SkyTeam’s Senior Manager Commercial Development. “It’s yet another example of how SkyTeam is delivering more customer-focused travel solutions online, in the air and on the ground.”

- Customer uses the Round the World booking portal to build their RTW journey, selecting two to 15 stops.
- An icon is displayed by each flight where a segment upgrade is available in the correct booking class.
- Customer clicks icon to seamlessly upgrade individual flight segments.
- Buy-ups are offered during the booking process, as well as via ‘Manage my Booking’ after the initial ticket has been purchased.
