easyJet voted business airline of the year and best short haul airline at the Business Travel Awards

LUTON, England, 2019-Jan-28 — /Travel PR News/ — easyJet, Europe’s leading airline, has been voted business airline of the year and best short haul airline at the prestigious Business Travel Awards which are judged by an independent panel made up of senior travel buyers.

easyJet carries over 90 million passengers annually and has steadily increased its market share of the business travel market with more than 15 million customers travelling on business.

The airline already has a  well-established and attractive business passenger offering including a varied slot portfolio, leading punctuality and an unrivalled network of primary airports.

As part of the airlines core strategy, easyJet will be focusing on developing its business product offering, making it easier for businesses to do business with easyJet. Three core elements form part of this focus;  improving connectivity to customers through the development of a corporate portal to allow small and medium size  business to book more easily as well as automating invoicing and increasing direct contracting with corporate customers.   Secondly, easyJet will cater for its business customers with a more personalised product offering including new business fares and bundles. Thirdly, ongoing improvements will be made to the schedule, adding a business-bias on certain routes and frequencies.

Andrea Caulfield-Smith, Head of Business development for easyJet, collected the awards. Commenting on the win she said:

“We are delighted to have won Business Airline of the year and best short airline especially as they are judged by key players in the business travel industry.

“To be recognised is a testament to how hard we have been working to continually improve our passengers’ experience when travelling for business, evolving our product, network and schedules to meet the needs of the business traveller.

“We continue to increase our appeal to the business travel sector. Enhancements including allocated seating, Inclusive and flexi fares and Fast Track Security have all played a part in enabling easyJet to attract more business passengers.”

The airline’s low fares, industry-leading punctuality and friendly service across Europe’s leading network have all been important factors in helping the airline to both attract and retain new business customers.

The airline operates the leading European network flying on more of the top 100 routes than any other airline.
