Traffic numbers for Oslo Airport in May continue to show steady growth. In May, the increase was 2.5% compared with May 2012.
2013-06-20 — /travelprnews.com/ — Domestic traffic declined by 0.6 %, which was due to several holidays in connection with weekends in May, as well as a strike in Widerøe. International traffic increased by a solid 5.5 %, and shows that weekend trips are increasingly popular among Norwegians.
The number of passengers via Oslo Airport in May totalled 2 012 112.
The number of aircraft movements (departures and arrivals) in May was 20 261, a decline of 1.2 % from the same month in 2012.
Oslo-Trondheim is still the busiest route out of Oslo Airport with 167 283 passengers in May, an increase of 2.7 % from May 2012. The runners-up are Bergen, Stavanger and Copenhagen, which all showed a decline compared with May 2012. The largest increase was the route to London, which increased by more than 8 % this month.
“We are very pleased with a growth rate of 2.5 % in May. The significant growth in international traffic indicates that a lot of people used the extended weekends to go abroad,” says Vegar Gystad, head of media relations.
