The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk announces new 10-Day “Work & Play” employment program this spring

SANTA CRUZ, CA , 2019-Mar-11 — /Travel PR News/ — The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk announced a new “Work & Play” employment program, aimed at hiring a team of temporary employees for 10 specific days this spring.

The new program comes with a lot of incentives for working the 10 designated days including 4 free Boardwalk Season Passes, 10 free All-Day Ride Wristbands, a flexible part-time schedule, and other employee perks.

“Our 10-Day Work & Play Program will be attractive to anyone who can’t commit to working all summer, but would still appreciate earning extra money and Boardwalk Season Passes to share with family or friends,” said Carol Siegel, Boardwalk employment manager. “With another tight labor market this year, we’re looking for a team of employees, ranging from students to seniors, who might enjoy the experience and appreciate the rewards of working just 10 days this spring.”

Applicants for the Work & Play program must be 18 years old. 

  • Jobs are in Rides and Food Service departments
  • The 10 days (all weekdays) needed to qualify are:  April 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and May 24, 28, 29, 30, 31
  • 4-8 hours per day between the hours of 10am and 6pm
  • Pay is $12.50/hour for Rides; $13.00/hour plus a free meal (per shift) with Food Service
  • Training and uniforms provided

In addition to the new Work & Play program, the Boardwalk is filling many other seasonal and year-round career positions in departments throughout the historic amusement park. “Every summer we face the challenge of filling over 1,500 seasonal jobs,” said Boardwalk employment manager, Carol Siegel. “Our employees love working at the beach and making friends in a fun environment.”

The Boardwalk offers many incentives and activities for employees, including a free employee shuttle from Watsonville, discount Metro Bus tickets, discounts to other Bay Area parks and attractions, discount movie passes, free parking and bike lockers, employee outings and parties, and team sports tournaments.
