Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof, Frankfurt am Main: “The Spa” – a new dimension in relaxation

2012-09-28 — /travelprnews.com/ — In January 2013, Frankfurt will see the opening of “The Spa”, a new urban day spa. The exclusive facilities will stretch over a floor space of 1,000 m² and provide a combination of health, beauty and care treatments. “The Spa” will feature a high-quality traditional men’s barber, and further highlights will include an unusually designed Hamam, an extensive sauna area and a Spa Suite which will be the first of its kind in Frankfurt.

The facility will be operated by Bangkok-based GOCO Hospitality, one of the world’s leading spa consultancy and management companies. GOCO Hospitality was commissioned by Steigenberger Hotels AG to draw up plans for a spa, the interior design concept was developed further by Peter Silling & Associates, a company from Cologne.

The traditional European philosophy adopted by “The Spa” will focus on proven benefits and efficacy. This approach involves combining familiar European treatments with modern beauty techniques and exclusive products. At the very heart of the concept lies a service portfolio exclusively developed for the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof. This guarantees an individual and tailor-made spa experience for every single guest. “The Spa” at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof will use premium products supplied by leading European manufacturers such as Amala and MBR and will pamper its male guests with grooming products from Hommage.

A special zone has been set up to cater to the spa’s male clientele. The concept includes extensive facial treatments, which will also be supplemented by special “express services” to meet the needs of visitors who are short of time by providing rapid and effective treatments. “The Barber” facility will set new standards and offer a re-interpretation of the classic European gents’ salon. Services on offer will include facials, manicures, hot-towel shaves and exclusive hair care.

The Spa Suite will provide a particularly luxurious opportunity for regeneration and relaxation by acting as a kind of “spa in spa” where a full range of services will be available. Guests can look forward to a steam room, a vitality pool featuring a Jacuzzi effect and a comprehensive portfolio of beauty treatments and massages. At the same time, the Spa Suite will also guarantee a high degree of privacy and individuality. A lounge and a separate treatment room with a double bench will ensure a discreet atmosphere, and a spa concierge will be on hand to provide detailed advice on drawing up personal treatment plans.

Hamam steam baths have been an integral part of bathing and physical culture for many centuries. The “Hamam ritual” will also form a major highlight at “The Spa” and will include both traditional massages and body peelings in the scrub room. Guests will also be able to enjoy a Finnish sauna, a herbal sauna, an ice fountain and hydro-massage showers.

The décor at “The Spa” reflects a timeless elegance in its combination of warm shades of cream and brown and dark-coloured high-quality woods. The men’s area creates a classy and masculine impression via the use of particularly dark wood. “The Spa” has put a modern spin on the idea of a sophisticated barber’s salon of the 1920’s. Whereas clear and calm lines predominate in the relaxation rooms, the Spa Suite and the sauna area, the ornamental mosaics in the Hamam conjure up an oriental atmosphere.
