Stapleford Park celebrates Melton Mowbray’s annual PieFest with a limited-edition game pie created in collaboration with Nice Pie
Leicestershire, England, 2018-Jul-31 — /Travel PR News/ — In celebration of Melton Mowbray’s annual PieFest (28th July to 29th July), Stapleford Park will be serving up a limited-edition game pie at its Library Bar created in collaboration with award-winning pie shop, Nice Pie. An ode to Leicestershire’s long pie-making tradition, the pastry creation is filled to the brim with tender chunks of pheasant, rabbit and pigeon, and encased in a handmade shortcrust mould freshly baked on the day. A feast for the eyes as well as for the mouth, the pie’s pastry lid has been engraved with a beautiful picture of a deer – a tribute to the hotel’s 500 acres of lake and woodland.
The recipe for the dish was conceived by Head Chef of Stapleford Park Tony Fitt, together with the team at Nice Pie, a local family business championed by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and famous for its award-winning squirrel and kangaroo pies.

Melton Mowbray’s annual PieFest will run from 10am to 4pm on the weekend of 28-29 July 2018 at Melton Mowbray Market, Leicestershire LE13 1JY. The event will be attended by UK’s awarding-winning pie makers selling their pies including past Supreme Champions of the British Pie Awards. PieFest will also include talks, tastings, demonstrations and workshops on how to make the perfect pie. There will also be a Pie Kitchen where visitors can eat hot pies – baked to perfection with a choice of mash, mushy peas, gravy, vegetables and a variety of accompaniments.
Available from 28th July to 29th July, the limited-edition pie will be served at the Library Bar.
