(PRESS RELEASE) DANIA BEACH, FL, 2025-May-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Spirit Airlines (NYSE American: FLYY) has unveiled an exciting new initiative aimed at enhancing the guest experience by improving onboard comfort and revamping its Free Spirit loyalty program. As part of this initiative, the airline is introducing a new extra-legroom seating option and a range of enhanced perks for its loyal members. These upgrades include expanded redemption options, seat upgrades, a two-free-checked-bag benefit, and more exclusive offers previously unavailable to Spirit guests.

Rana Ghosh, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Spirit Airlines, explained, “Spirit’s new premium options offer travelers exceptional value, and we’re creating even more opportunities for Guests to experience them with our new extra-legroom seating option. We’re also adding more value and perks for our loyalty members at a time when others are taking away benefits, giving our most loyal Guests even more reasons to choose Spirit.”

Go Comfy Reimagined with Extra-Legroom Seating

Spirit Airlines is introducing new extra-legroom seating, offering an additional four inches of legroom for those who prioritize comfort. The Go Comfy seating will feature seven rows near the front of the aircraft, totaling over 40 seats. These seats, with a total pitch of 32 inches, will be available starting in June 2025, and the full rollout is expected to be completed by July 2025, with the final installations finished by 2026. To accommodate these upgrades, Spirit will phase out the blocked middle seat, enhancing the comfort and space available to passengers. The Go Comfy seating will also include a carry-on bag, no change or cancel fees, Priority Boarding, reserved overhead bin space, a snack, and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests can begin booking these extra-legroom seats starting May 15, 2025, for travel commencing July 9, 2025.

Enhanced Free Spirit Loyalty Program

Spirit Airlines is upgrading its Free Spirit loyalty program, offering more value to its members. The program, which is free to join and allows members to quickly earn rewards and status, now includes expanded redemption options. Members can redeem Free Spirit points for premium travel options like Go Big and Go Comfy, in addition to other benefits. Additionally, Free Spirit Status members and Free Spirit Travel More Mastercard cardholders will receive complimentary upgrades to Big Front Seats and Comfy Seats, based on availability and status level, starting in June. The program will also introduce a two-free-checked-bags benefit for Free Spirit Travel More Mastercard cardholders in late 2025. A new Free Spirit Debit Card will launch in the fall, allowing cardholders to earn points on everyday purchases, redeemable for travel and additional perks, such as Group 2 Priority Boarding and a 25% rebate on inflight purchases.

Spirit also confirmed that Gold and Silver Status members will retain all current benefits, such as Shortcut Security, seat selection, and free Wi-Fi (subject to availability), without an increase in requirements for the 2025 program year. Gold Status members will continue to enjoy additional perks like free bags, complimentary snacks and drinks, including alcohol, on eligible flights.
