DOHA, Qatar, 2017-Dec-14 — /Travel PR News/ — Qatar Airways has been named ‘Best Airline for International First Class,’ ‘Best First-Class Seat Design,’ and ‘Best Airline in the Middle East,’ for the second consecutive year by the ‘Global Traveler Tested Reader Survey Awards’, one of the most respected awards in the business travel industry.

The U.S. based Global Traveler Tested Reader Survey awards are voted on by frequent affluent international travellers, with 93 per cent travelling internationally on a regular basis, primarily in first and business class. The awards are an unbiased reflection as they are based solely on reader votes. Qatar Airways was honoured with the distinguished awards at a private Gala Event at The Peninsula Beverly Hills in Los Angeles on 12 December, 2017.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “It is a great pleasure to be recognised by travellers for the second consecutive year for our luxury, state-of-the-art product and outstanding service. We take pride in providing passengers with the utmost travel experience, and constantly exceed their expectations each time they choose to travel with us. It is always our goal to continuously raise the bar on service and offerings onboard. We are excited to bring a new level of innovation and comfort to our dedicated passengers with the much-anticipated U.S. arrival of our Qsuite business class experience to New York’s JFK this month, creating a First Class experience in Business Class.”

The latest Global Traveler awards were presented ahead of the launch of Qatar Airways’ highly-anticipated Qsuite Business Class seat on flights from Hamad International Airport (HIA) to John F. Kennedy International Airport, commencing 16 December, 2017. Qsuite features the industry’s first-ever double bed available in Business Class, with privacy panels that stow away; allowing passengers in adjoining seats to create their own private room. Adjustable panels and movable TV monitors on the center four seats allow colleagues, friends or families travelling together to transform their space into a private suite, permitting them to work, dine and socialize together. These new features provide the ultimate customizable travel experience that enables passengers to create an environment that suits their own unique needs.

The U.S. debut of the groundbreaking new seat, Qsuite, follows similar launches in Paris and London earlier this year.

The award-winning airline has received a number of other accolades this year, including ‘Airline of the Year’ by the prestigious 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards, held at the Paris Air Show. This is the fourth time that Qatar Airways has been awarded this global recognition as the world’s best airline. Additionally, Qatar Airways received the ‘Best Up In The Air Experience’ and ‘Best Baggage Initiative’ awards at the Future Travel Experience Global 2017 awards ceremony.
