Qatar Airways Cargo’s dedication to service excellence honored at the 33rd Cargo Airline of the Year event with All-Cargo Carrier award

The prestigious award highlights the airline’s dedication to service excellence and innovation

DOHA, Qatar, 2016-Apr-29 — /Travel PR News/ — Qatar Airways Cargo was presented with the prestigious All-Cargo Carrier award at the 33rd Cargo Airline of the Year event. The glittering ball was held at the Lancaster London Hotel on 23 April 2016.

Mr. Ulrich Ogiermann, Qatar Airways Chief Officer Cargo said: “We are delighted and honoured to be presented with the All-Cargo Carrier award at the Cargo Airline of the Year event. We are grateful to all of our hardworking and committed employees as well as our customers for their continued support. This award highlights our dedication to our customers. With our rapidly expanding network, modern fleet and new solutions, we strive to offer customers unmatched service on the ground and in the air.”

Termed as the cargo industry “Oscars”, Cargo Airline of the Year is the world’s oldest and most respected air cargo awards event, hosted by Air Cargo News. Each year, customers vote for their favourite carriers based on their efficiency and ease of use. The online voting gives public recognition to those airlines which care about customer service and value for money.

Qatar Airways Cargo was also recently honoured with the International Award for Excellence in Air Cargo at the Air Cargo India 2016 exhibition and conference, hosted by STAT Times. Readers of STAT Times, the monthly publication covering transport and tourism news, rated Qatar Airways Cargo ‘highly acclaimed’ in the International Air Cargo Airline of the Year category, a significant recognition of Qatar Airways Cargo’s emerging industry leadership position.

The awards come at a time when Qatar Airways Cargo is seeing remarkable growth. Qatar Airways Cargo recently launched QR Express, a solution to deliver airport-to-airport air freight service for time critical shipments. QR Express is the latest addition to the cargo airline’s expanding portfolio of specialised services and products. To date, Qatar Airways Cargo offers distinct products, such as QR Pharma, QR Fresh and QR Equine, to ensure efficiency and compliance in the handling of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and perishable cargo, as well as professional care and service for the shipment of horses and other live animals.

Qatar Airways Cargo also offers QR Charter, utilising its most modern freighter fleets in the sky comprised of Boeing B777 and Airbus A330 freighters as well as the popular Boeing B747-400BCF heavy cargo aircraft. The 112.5 tonne capacity on B747-400BCF aircraft enables the cargo airline to satisfy growing demand for outsized freight transportation from customers investing in significant infrastructure projects in the Middle East and throughout the world.

Qatar Airways Cargo also recently launched an innovative new mobile app providing its customers important information at their fingertips on their mobile devices. In addition to getting detailed status of their shipments, customers can use this app for various enquiries such as Qatar Airways passenger flight and freighter schedules, office contact details, product descriptions and more.

The airline is also investing in the infrastructure at Hamad International Airport to support further growth, including a new cargo terminal that will be able to handle 4.4 million tonnes of cargo per year.

Qatar Airways Cargo currently has a fully-fledged homepage and mobile website www.qrcargo.com, which are connected to its in-house cargo management system, CROAMIS.
