2012-08-17 — /travelprnews.com/ — One hundred young footballers from the Governorate of Dhofar, in southern Oman, will get the chance to support their national team at this week’s Oman-Egypt match, thanks to Oman Air.

The national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman has invited the youth football league players to attend Wednesday’s friendly international as guests of Oman Air at the A’saada Sports Complex in Salalah. There they will not only cheer on their national side, but also represent the future of Omani football and enjoy the airline’s trademark hospitality.

In addition, Oman Air will be selecting the Man of the Match, who will be presented with a ticket to travel on Oman Air’s award-winning business class service to any destination of their choice within the airline’s network.

Oman Air’s invitation to the young football continues its commitment to supporting young people in Oman to achieve their full potential and reflects the airline’s role as the key partner for the Oman national team and official carrier of the Oman Football Association.

Wayne Pearce, Chief Executive Officer, Oman Air said: “We at Oman Air are delighted to be the main key partner and official carrier for the Oman Football Association and the national team and we are delighted to recognise the great strides the team has accomplished in recent years. At Oman Air, we are committed to encouraging the development of Oman’s pool of local talent in the field of sports, and continuing with our contribution through our close collaboration with Oman Football Association. Hazzaa Salim Al Saadi, Chief Executive Officer of the Oman Football Association, said: “We are proud to be working together with Oman Air to enhance our football fans’ and our young players’ experiences of the game. We want this friendly match to have a true Omani look and feel, and it is the fans who will bring this to life. We urge every fan to get behind our team and offer them their much-needed support.

“Fans of the Oman national team around the world who cannot attend this match can support their team and also win even more prizes by taking part in the “Support the Shirt Pledge” campaign. Participation in this campaign is free and it is a fantastic way for fans to show their solidarity with the team. Fans are already showing their support, as the Oman national team prepares for qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and wearing the Oman national team’s jersey every time the team plays will give a valuable boost to each player’s confidence.”

Oman Air is also offering fans the chance to win economy class return tickets to any of Oman Air’s 41 destinations. Two tickets can be won by fans who buy the national team jersey in Salalah and a further two tickets can be won by fans who attend the match.

Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Shikely, Oman Air’s General Manager Marketing added: “Oman Air is delighted to be promoting the achievements of the Omani national side, supporting young people in the development of their footballing potential and giving fans the opportunity to experience Oman Air’s award-winning products and services.
