2013-02-12 — /travelprnews.com/ — G6 Hospitality, one of the nation’s largest owner/operators of economy lodging, under the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands, announces the opening of 63 locations in 2012, all under franchise contracts. The latest openings include 57 Motel 6 and six Studio 6 properties, with a room count of more than 5,100.
“We opened a record number of franchises in 2012 – a perfect way to celebrate the Motel 6 brand’s 50th anniversary and to kick off our new ownership by The Blackstone Group,” said Jim Amorosia, CEO of G6 Hospitality. “We will continue the aggressive growth of Motel 6 and Studio 6 in 2013 with 100 projected openings, thanks to the brands’ proven track record of success and results.”
The 2012 additions cover 25 U.S. states and one Canadian province. Franchise locations account for approximately 50 percent of the Motel 6/Studio 6 network. The openings include:
