More than 75,000 people expected to attend the Eat Real Festival at the Oakland waterfront this Friday through Sunday

More than 600,000 people have experienced the culinary adventure since 2009

Oakland, Calif., 2018-Sep-13 — /Travel PR News/ — Jack London Square’s biggest event of the year, Eat Real Festival, celebrates its 10th year at the Oakland waterfront this Friday through Sunday. More than 75,000 people are expected to attend the family-friendly festival with local food vendors, artisan products and cooking demonstrations by some of the Bay Area’s top chefs.

“Eat Real is an opportunity to adventure beyond your usual food choices, and try new cuisines all in one location,” said Port of Oakland Commercial Real Estate Director Pamela Kershaw. “Lots of families come to this big street party for more than just good eats; they’re here to enjoy the music and free entertainment in our beautiful waterfront setting.”

The event will be a celebration of multi-cultural flavors including Mexican, Native American and Hawaiian Poke. Attendees can choose from more than 100 sustainably sourced menu items, craft beers and cocktails and do-it-yourself classes.

Eat Real’s Family Fun Zone, located at Harrison Street and Embarcadero, will feature circus performers from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Top Bay Area food vendors will appear at Eat Real, including Gerard’s Paella, alaMar, Southern Comfort Kitchen and Donut Savant. Visitors can learn where food comes from, who grows it and how to make it.

Eat Real Festival schedule:

  • Friday, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.;
  • Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.;
  • and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Food Craft Institute.

Jack London Square venues will be open including Ben and Jerry’s, Belcampo, Dyafa, Farmhouse Kitchen, Forge, Kincaid’s, Lungomare, Plank, Rosenblum Cellars and Scott’s Seafood. Restaurants with outdoor dining are pet-friendly.
