London, UK, 2022-May-13 — /Travel PR News/ — momondo, the global travel metasearch site, announced a partnership with Direct Ferries, the world’s leading ferry ticket booking site. Direct Ferries’ proprietary white label booking engine, Ferries Connect, will enable momondo’s users in Denmark and Sweden to compare prices, routes and times on ferries in addition to flights, hotels and car rental deals.
Through this partnership, momondo becomes the first meta search engine in the Nordics to provide travellers access to 3,000 worldwide ferry routes to reach their destination, a continuation of the company’s efforts to make it easier for all people to experience the world through travel.
The partnership will initially launch in Denmark and Sweden, enabling users to compare and book a wide range of popular ferry crossings in Scandinavia, including the popular routes of Oskarshamn – Visby, Stockholm – Turku and Gothenburg – Frederikshavn, as well as search, compare and book ferry crossings in other parts of Europe and the rest of the world.
“At momondo, providing our users with innovative tools and a continuously growing range of travel products is at the heart of what we do” said Per Christiansen, Senior Vice President at momondo.
“Every year, millions of holidaymakers use ferries for the whole, or parts of their journey. It was therefore a given for momondo, as the first meta search engine in the Nordic region, to extend our transportation offers with a ferry product, opening thousands of additional routes for our users. The partnership with Direct Ferries continues our path to be the traveller’s preferred partner, whichever way they want to travel.”
Niall Walsh, Chief Operating Officer at Direct Ferries said: “We are continuing to see a growing demand for ferry travel, as more travellers globally are exploring alternative means of transport for their journeys. Our new partnership with momondo means that even more customers globally will be able to enjoy the benefits of fully connected ferry travel anywhere in the world, booked quickly and easily through our advanced ferry ticketing platform, Ferries Connect.”
