Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech partners with local charity On The Way To School to help Berber girls secure a decent education

Hong Kong, 2016-Nov-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech is partnering with local charity, On The Way To School, to help Berber girls secure a decent education. As part of the resort’s Acting with Responsibility programme it will help the charity establish and run a home for 20 girls close to their school.

Guests can support the charity and experience luxurious accommodation and facilities at Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech by booking the resort’s Travel & Care package, which will help pay for the costs of establishing the girls’ school with a EUR100 donation included in the price.

The Travel & Care package is priced from EUR 850 per night, and includes:

  • Luxury accommodation
  • Daily buffet breakfast served in the restaurant
  • A visit to the girls lodgings in the Imlil Valley
  • Cooking class in the resort’s kitchen garden where guests can prepare their own lunch
  • Round-trip transfer from Marrakech Menara Airport
  • Fast track through the airport
  • Price includes EUR 100 donation to the charity, On The Way To School

Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech celebrated its first anniversary in October, but its social and environmental contribution to the local community have already been internationally recognized, with the resort receiving the Green Key distinction in 2016,  the global tourism industry’s top award for environmentalism and sustainability. Green initiatives at the resort include growing vegetables to produce year-round supplies of fresh, organic food for guests to enjoy, and plans to install three biomass boilers by the end of 2016 to replace propane gas heating for the spa and other buildings.

The Travel & Care package is subject to availability. The quoted price is based on double occupancy for a minimum stay of three nights, and excludes taxes and gratuities.
