Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong named the Official Hotel for Art Basel in Hong Kong this May

Art Basel will be held from 15 to 18 May 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, just a short taxi ride away from the hotel. Art Menu in the Michelin-starred Mandarin Grill + Bar – 5 to 18 May 2014

Michelin-starred chef, Uwe Opocensky will be offering guests of the Mandarin Grill + Bar a special art-inspired three-course lunch and five-course dinner menu, which will include a ticket to Art Basel. Creative, inspired and designed to stimulate all the senses, guests will be amazed and delighted as they watch these artistic dishes such as Apple & Man and Create Your Own Jackson Pollock unfold before their eyes. Art Exhibition in the Clipper Lounge – 5 to 25 May 2014

The Clipper Lounge will become home to a special exhibition that will raise valuable funds for Operation Smile China Medical Mission. This exclusive ‘Smile’ exhibition will showcase over 15 works of art by Hong Kong’s emerging and more established artists. Each piece will be sold to raise money for this worthwhile charity. The hotel’s highly creative culinary team will also produce a special Operation Smile cake that will be offered as part of the hotel’s famed afternoon tea set for guests to enjoy.

Art Chocolates – 5 to 25 May 2014

The hotel’s talented pastry chefs will also be offering a range of limited-edition chocolates. These tasty delights will include a range of chocolate pencils, paint brushes and even chocolate artist palettes, all of which will be made available for sampling by guests making use of the special Art Stay package. Art Cocktails in the M bar – 5 to 25 May 2014

The fashionable M bar, perched on the 25th floor of the hotel, will offer a series of must-try art-inspired cocktails named after and themed around the various exhibition sectors “Insights”, “Discoveries”, “Encounters” and “Film”.
