Introducing Minako At The Met

New Menu Showcases Creative Asian Fusion Cuisine

LONDON, 2012-08-29 — /travelprnews.com/ — One of the highest restaurants in London, Minako at the Met has recently launched an Asian Fusion menu, incorporating the traditional Pan Asian cuisine whilst exploring a more creative approach in both preparation and presentation.

Located on the 23rd floor at Hilton London Metropole, diners can experience the best of Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Vietnamese and Thai cuisine, while soaking up the stunning views. The elegant, modern design of the restaurant is enhanced by the floor to ceiling glass walls, with impressive vistas across the city skyline and some of London’s major landmarks.

Head chef, Simon Volante, has a diverse culinary background having worked in both the UK and across the US, from Washington DC to Beverly Hills. The new menu has been infused with bold yet balanced flavours – crispy salmon is given an element of flair with red pepper couscous and crispy seaweed, while the five spice duck breast with red chilli dumplings and lychee jus offers diners a rich complexity and depth of flavour.

Other favourites on the new menu include a variety of tempura; Szechuan pepper-coated rib eye steak; and steamed red snapper with egg noodles, bok choy, shitake mushrooms, shisho cress and dashi broth.

For the time-conscious, guests can enjoy an Express Lunch – a three-course set lunch menu served in just 35 minutes. Offering great value for money, with two courses for £15 or three for £18, diners can even put the chefs to the test, with their own tabletop sand clocks counting down the minutes until service.

Also available at lunchtime are traditional Japanese bento boxes, with an eclectic array of Minako dishes, neatly served on a single-portion platter. Bento dishes include beef satay with habanero aioli, chicken coriander dumplings and pineapple star-anise cheesecake.

With an expert in-house mixologist, Minako Bar is an ideal destination for post-work drinks. Guests can enjoy stunning views from the 23rd floor, which are particularly bewitching at night when London’s major landmarks are twinkling far below. Harmonising an array of exotic flavours, the cocktail menu draws on the Asian influence, complementing the food menu. The wine list has also been carefully compiled, with wines specifically designed for pairing with food in order to enhance the overall dining experience.

Cocktails include a flavoursome selection of Asian fusion concoctions as well as classic favourites, with a signature favourite being the Minako Passion Fruit Martini – an exotic mix of Absolut vodka, passion fruit purée, gomme syrup and lemon juice, garnished with fresh passion fruit.

For the peckish, there is also a delectable menu of Asian tapas at the bar, including prawn and lychee spring rolls; seared salmon tataki; dim sum; gyoza; dumplings; and sushi and sashimi platters.
