Hyatt Advances Global Talent Development Efforts With More Than 12,000 RiseHY Hires

(NEWS) CHICAGO, 2026-Jun-10 — /Travel PR News/ — Hyatt has surpassed its global RiseHY hiring goal, with Hyatt and Hyatt hotels hiring more than 12,000 Opportunity Youth worldwide between 2018 and 2025, exceeding the company’s original target of 10,000 hires by the end of 2025.

Launched in 2018, RiseHY is Hyatt’s programme designed to connect untapped talent with career opportunities in hospitality. It focuses particularly on Opportunity Youth, defined as young people from under-resourced communities who are not currently working, studying or participating in training.

Based on official press updates shared by Hyatt, the milestone forms part of Hyatt’s wider World of Care platform, which covers the company’s approach to people, communities, responsible business and environmental priorities. Hyatt is now working toward a new RiseHY commitment announced in 2025: hiring an additional 5,000 people from untapped talent pools by the end of 2028.

The next phase of the programme will place greater emphasis on retention, skills development and long-term career mobility. Hyatt said the aim is not only to bring young people into hospitality jobs, but also to support their progression across roles, hotels and regions.

RiseHY is supported through partnerships with community organisations, nonprofits and public-private initiatives. Since 2008, Hyatt, Hyatt hotels and the Hyatt Hotels Foundation have helped direct more than USD 7 million to more than 300 nonprofits in 54 countries, supporting training, confidence-building and access to employment.

Examples of the programme’s impact include Park Hyatt Marrakech, where RiseHY hires made up around 10% of the hotel’s team in 2025, and Grand Hyatt Amman, where participant Doa’a Awwad progressed through training into a kitchen role and later earned a promotion. At Grand Hyatt Bali, Maria Dangu began as an intern before moving into a full-time role and later taking on a leadership position at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi.

Hyatt is also highlighting its collaboration with Les Déterminés in France, a nonprofit focused on entrepreneurship and workforce readiness in underserved communities. The organisation has received annual Hyatt Community Grants since 2019, helping more than 300 young people develop skills and access career opportunities.

The initiative reflects a broader challenge facing the hospitality sector: attracting, training and retaining workers while creating more inclusive routes into employment. With more than 1,500 hotels and all-inclusive properties in 83 countries, Hyatt is positioning RiseHY as both a talent development platform and a social impact programme.
