Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort Honored By United States Tennis Association With Outstanding Facility Award

TUCSON, Ariz., 2012-09-05 — /travelprnews.com/ — On September 2, 2012, Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort was honored with a 2012 USTA Outstanding Facility Award at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Semi-Annual meeting held in New York City. This year, only seven tennis facilities in the U.S. received this prestigious recognition.

“It is a great honor to be recognized as one of the outstanding tennis facilities by the USTA,” said Jennifer Fuchs, director of tennis at Hilton Tucson El Conquistador. “This award is a testament to our ongoing efforts to provide the highest quality tennis facility and the tennis departments’ tireless efforts and dedication.”

The tennis facilities at Hilton Tucson El Conquistador were recognized by the USTA for outstanding quality of each court area and surface, quality of the court enclosure and lighting, overall layout and adaptation to site, superior accessories and amenities as well as exceptional, green maintenance. When selecting the 2012 outstanding facility of the year the USTA Outstanding Facility Awards Subcommittee also noted the tennis programs and important contributions to the game of tennis offered by Hilton Tucson El Conquistador.

Recently, the resort’s 16 tennis courts underwent a $900,000 enhancement project. The improvements to the tennis courts located at the resort included new durable post tension concrete surfaces, new awnings and the designation of six courts with QuickStart lines – the latest initiative from the USTA designed to help teach younger players. Tennis courts located at the property’s Country Club on La Canada also underwent resurfacing with four of these courts receiving the new QuickStart lines.

Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort also runs and hosts numerous prestigious national-level USTA events for both adults and juniors. The resort is home to two full-service pro shops, with clothing, accessories, shoes and 24-hour turnaround stringing services. Players looking to enhance their skills can enjoy tennis lessons from the resort’s expert staff and brush up on stroke mechanics, shot development, court awareness, movement and tactics.
