Hilton Tokyo will again Welcome Guests in Yukata – Japanese traditional Summer kimono

TOKYO, 2013-06-03 — /travelprnews.com/ — This Summer, Hilton Tokyo will again welcome guests in Yukata – Japanese traditional Summer kimono, to deliver cool, refreshing yet heart-warming “Yokoso” to Japan. The hotel’s door and guest relations team members will wear colorful Yukata from 8:00am to 10:00am and 5:00pm to 8:00pm from June 1 to August 31, 2013, and a similar service will be offered at the Executive Lounge from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

The Japanese government started a “Cool Biz Campaign” back in 2005 as an energy saving initiative; The Cool Biz dress code advises workers to wear outfits appropriate for the office yet cool enough to endure the Summer heat and humidity. Yukata are made with straight seams and wide sleeves and unlike formal kimono, which are made of silk, yukata are typically made of cotton and are unlined.

Jamie Mead, general manager, Hilton Tokyo says; “We believe that Yutaka are the perfect cool biz costume which Japanese people should be proud of. We hope that guests enjoy an authentic arrival experience being greeted by our team wearing colorful Yukata. The hotel will also offer cold green tea upon check-in during the Summer period”.
