(PRESS RELEASE) LYON, France, 2024-Jan-20 — /Travel PR News/ — Hilton is expanding its footprint in Lyon, one of France’s largest and most vibrant cities, with four new hotel signings in a strategic partnership with Arteloge. This expansion introduces the Spark by Hilton brand to France for the first time and marks the upcoming addition of Lyon’s second DoubleTree by Hilton property. The development is set to bring a total of 655 rooms to the city, enhancing Hilton’s presence in this key market.

Scheduled to open in late 2025, Spark by Hilton Lyon Ouest and Spark by Hilton Lyon Park Saone will be the first two properties to launch, followed by Spark by Hilton Lyon Eurexpo in the summer of 2026. These hotels will offer modern, practical accommodations in key areas of Lyon, close to business hubs and the scenic banks of the Saône River. In 2028, the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Lyon Plage will further diversify Hilton’s portfolio in the city, catering to both business and leisure travelers with its upscale services.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President of Development for EMEA at Hilton, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “Lyon is a critical part of our growth strategy in France. With plans to increase our portfolio by over 50%, we’re thrilled to introduce Spark by Hilton to France while also expanding our well-loved DoubleTree by Hilton brand. This partnership with Arteloge is a perfect opportunity to deliver exceptional guest experiences while leveraging the local expertise of trusted owners.”

Eric Giorgi, CEO of Arteloge, added, “We’re excited to be working with Hilton to bring these four properties to Lyon. We look forward to welcoming guests to these remarkable new hotels in the years ahead.”

The Spark by Hilton hotels will bring a refreshing approach to the premium economy segment in France. With 102 rooms at Lyon Ouest and 100 rooms at Lyon Park Saone, both properties will feature amenities like multi-functional public spaces, a hydration cart with complimentary water and fruit, and a 24-hour retail market. Spark by Hilton’s design combines simple, vibrant elements to create a welcoming environment for guests seeking comfort and value.

DoubleTree by Hilton Lyon Plage, set to open in 2028, will offer 118 guest rooms and 56 extended-stay accommodations, as well as an on-site restaurant, bar, and meeting facilities.
