2012-08-06 — /travelprnews.com/ — Copenhagen Airport and car rental company Sixt offer car owners using Copenhagen Airport’s parking facilities to have their cars washed and cleaned while they’re away.
Leave the key with our staff and you’ll return to a newly washed, vacuum cleaned and detailed car. This is a new service that Copenhagen Airport and Sixt offer to travellers who drive to the airport in their own car.
Each year, more than 1.2 million passengers leave their car at one of the airport’s 11 carparks while they travel, said Carsten Nørland, VP, Sales & Marketing for Copenhagen Airports.
“We interview 130,000 passengers each year, and many passengers have told us that they would like to buy some extra luxury at the airport when they travel. And coming back to a clean and newly washed car is surely a great luxury for passengers driving to the airport in their own car,” said Carsten Nørland.
The price for the service will be DKK 395. It includes car wash, vacuuming, polish of mirrors and windows, cleaning of door jambs, removal of insect stains, vinyl refresh inside and refilling of windshield washer fluid.
Drive home in a clean car
This opportunity of offering travellers to return to a clean car arose when Sixt opened its new car cleaning centre on Kystvejen (the Coastal Road) by the airport. “This has given us capacity to also take in private cars,” said Kasper Gjedsted, CEO of Sixt, adding
“Many people need their car for work, so they can’t find the time for a thorough cleaning. So why not have it done while the car is parked at the airport,” said Kasper Gjedsted.
The car cleaning service can be booked online. But the service can also be booked at the Sixt office at Copenhagen Airport, where the car keys have to be turned in. The car will be picked up by Sixt as close to the owner’s return as possible. It will be thoroughly cleaned and parked as close to the original parking space as possible. The owner can pick up the key at the Sixt office in Terminal 3 and drive home in a clean car.
