Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan unveils brand-new Family Suites

Introducing the New Family Suites and New Kids for All Seasons Facilities at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan. Now even more enjoyable for parents and kids.

2013-06-07 — /travelprnews.com/ — Already a great destination for families, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan has just unveiled brand-new Family Suites – an ideal option for parents and up to two kids. The new accommodations provide a spacious, comfortable home base when exploring the island’s lush central highlands and the nearby cultural capital of Ubud.

“Many people think of the Ubud area as a romantic destination for couples,” says the Resort’s General Manager Uday Rao. “In fact, Ubud has become a lively, engaging town and there are plenty of activities for families at all stages. That’s why we’ve been making our Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan even more family-friendly.”

The new Family Suite category is part of a major reinvention of Sayan accommodations. Last year saw the updating of all 42 free-standing villas, creating a look that’s chic and contemporary, while also more in touch with nature and more authentically Balinese. Recent renovations have transformed the collection of 18 suites, all located within the main Resort building, offering views of the vividly green Ayung River valley and rice paddies.

The Family Suites encompass 190 square metres (2043 square feet), all on one level, including two bedrooms, plus a living area with an outdoor terrace for dining. The master bedroom features a king bed, lavish marble bathroom, a walk-in closet and a private terrace with two lounge chairs. The second bedroom is just off the living room and features a twin bed with another single bed that pulls out. This bedroom sleeps two children, or one child and a nanny. A bathroom with shower is adjacent.

The décor highlights natural and rustic materials derived from Bali, including traditional ikat fabrics, rattan, wood, coconut husk and mother of pearl, as well as Balinese handicrafts. Comfortable furnishings are featured indoors and out. In the master bedroom, the wall behind the bed is a carved wooden screen featuring a delicate pattern of leaves and birds in front of a glowing red background. The bed itself may be surrounded by a sheer white canopy, giving parents their own romantic hideaway.

Conveniently Close to Kids For All Seasons Activities

With their location in the main Resort building, the Family Suites offer easy, elevator proximity to the lobby, restaurants, Spa and health club. The suites are also conveniently close to the recently unveiled Kids For All Seasons facilities.

Available for children 5 to 12 years old, the PiciPici Club (meaning “little snail” in Balinese) helps children connect with the gentle Balinese culture through an array of adventure-based games, creative play, arts and crafts. Activities take place in two areas: the bright and colourful play centre and the Rice Barn Tree House, tucked into its own jungle wonderland. Kids can take part in Balinese dance classes or learn the art of palm leaf folding. They’ll also find the latest books, board games, Nintendo Wii, PS3, iMac computers with internet and a plasma TV with DVD player and movie library.

As Uday Rao says, “This is the first time Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan has offered such a facility for our younger guests. We are delighted to be able to offer such a wide range of choices to entertain children, so that parents can have some down time”.

Plenty of Activities for Families

The culturally rich town of Ubud is just 15 minutes from Four SeasonsResort Bali at Sayan. Ubud is a lively, bohemian community with art galleries and outstanding restaurants, as well as yoga and meditation centres – as made famous in the book and movie, Eat, Pray, Love.

For nature-loving families, there are plenty of rare and dazzling activities. Kids can meet monkeys at a small nature preserve that is home to hundreds of Balinese macaques. They can ride, feed and interact with the world’s largest herd of Sumatran elephants and their babies. Or they can explore the Bali Bird Park, home to more than 1,000 species of birds, including many rare, exotic and highly colourful creatures. They can also experience the beauty of the Ayung River in a canoe, kayak, or raft.

Right at the Resort, kids can learn how to plant rice, getting knee-deep in the mud of the rice paddies. And families can go for a guided village walk, exploring the streets of Sayan, and even going inside local Balinese people’s houses. It gives them an eye-opening introduction to a different way of life.

The Family Suites have already proven incredibly popular in advance bookings, demonstrating the pent-up demand among families who want to explore this natural, cultural side of Bali.
