Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Founder and Chairman Isadore Sharp will be honoured by The British Travel Industry Hall of Fame

2013-04-23 — /travelprnews.com/ — Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Founder and Chairman Isadore Sharp will be honoured by The British Travel Industry Hall of Fame at a special awards dinner on April 25, 2013 in London.

The Hall of Fame was created in 1995 to “honour excellence and outstanding achievement in those who have played a significant part in creating and developing the travel, hospitality and tourism industry.”

Isadore “Issy” Sharp opened the company’s first hotel in Canada in 1961 – a modest 125-room motor hotel in downtown Toronto. Since then Four Seasons has transformed into a reputed brand respected world over. Four Seasons has 90 properties in 37 countries and counting, in unparalleled locations from Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus to Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, Thailand.

Speaking of the company’s achievements, Sharp commented that it was the launch of Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane in 1970 that propelled the brand internationally, setting the tone for the future direction of the company and pioneering many of the signature Four Seasons services now delivered worldwide. Consequently, this accolade from The British Travel Industry carries all the more importance him.

“The reason for our success is no secret. It comes down to one single principle that transcends time and geography, religion and culture. It’s the Golden Rule – the simple idea that if you treat people well, the way you would like to be treated, they will do the same,” says Sharp.
